“Books are a uniquely portable magic.”
A Kid in Kearlith
The first book of a thrilling new young-adult fantasy series where a magical blue leaf makes anything possible.
Simon stumbles into an animalistic society hidden in the Smoky Mountains where magical blue leaves are collected and consumed. The city and the maze-like forest surrounding it are run by Lord Fyresk, the last human left in the city. Everyone in Kearlith knows Lord Fyresk is taking money and magic from the Kearlithians, but no one knows why.
Daarvus and her Dungeons
The second book of the Kearlith series.
The city of Kearlith has had a long history of heroes and villains since its inception in 1801. The four Preeminents created the city with the best intentions of keeping a pure and noble society hidden from the rest of the world. It is believed that all four of them passed on long ago, but with magic, anything is possible. Nothing remains pure forever.
A Single Blade
My entry for the 2019 National Novel Writing Month! Coming 2020.
In a world of the future when life can only exist within domes, Martha explores the dead, dry soil of the Earth, reminiscing of a time when Mother Nature thrived, when she stumbles upon a single blade of grass. She returns home to spread the wonderful news that they might be able to live outside again, but those who have made it rich from the domes will do everything to prevent this news from getting out. How much damage can a single blade do?
Who She Is
As a kid, Peppermint (yes, that’s her real name) decided the normal lifestyle wasn’t for her. She preferred paints and blank skateboards to pens and college-ruled notebook paper. She stole a red toolbox from her dead-beat dad and took to living on the streets, creating art whenever and wherever the Other Universe called to her. Now she’s living on the streets of Birmingham, Alabama bridging the gap between the staunch rules of our reality and the intangible energy of the Other Universe.
